According to documents released by WikiLeaks, top Clinton State Department aide Jake Sullivan used a private email to discuss bringing down the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi with the Secretary.
In an email chain to Sullivan, John Podesta, Huma Abden and others, Clinton staffer Nick Merrill quotes what appears to be correspondence between himself and a New York Times reporter in which is he writes the following:
many emails jake sent or received from the secretary were from his state.gov account. but he did send mrs. clinton an email in april 2012 from his personal account that outlined her leadership in bringing down the qaddafi regime.
This appears to be yet another example of a potentially classified conversation being had over unsecured personal email. At the very least this is more evidence that the Clinton State Department had little regard for the rules regarding email use.
The email was released during WikiLeaks’ “The Podesta Leaks” campaign. This is the 22nd installment of that campaign. More is expected to be released in the next few days.
We all knew it was bad, but man it just keeps coming doesn’t it
