U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has warned that President Joe Biden may not be the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee during an appearance on Fox News.
“I’m here to tell you, Joe Biden’s not going to run in ‘24. I do not believe he will be the Democrat nominee in ’24,” Cruz said.
Cruz suggested that Vice President Kamala Harris would not be in the running either, describing her as in the “way” of other Democrats considering presidential bids, including U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). Harris’s approval ratings have consistently paled in comparison to Biden’s, and she lost badly to Biden during her own 2020 presidential bid.
“Listen, when Democrats want to kill each other, they have the New York Times on speed dial number one. I think all the ambitious Democrats are measuring the drapes and so these knives are coming from every direction,” Cruz added.
Cruz went on to claim there was an acrimonious relationship between former primary rivals Biden and Harris.
“There’s a reason why Kamala has been given one and only one job responsibility in the Biden presidency. You’re in charge of the southern border. Now, you don’t give your Vice President the biggest mess in your presidency unless you really dislike your Vice President,” said Cruz.
Since October, 304,000 migrants have been able to breach the southern border without being caught, according to the U.S. Border Patrol. Many of these migrants come from countries all across the world, including the United States’ primary global threat, China.
