Not content to be sidelined by the campaign to elect his successor, lame duck President Barack Obama is preparing another attack on the American dream. This time around, Obama and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (and probable running mate for Hillary Clinton) Julian Castro aim to punish America’s suburban communities for their success by using a government scheme, drawn directly from United Nations Agenda 21, to move people from large urban areas to the suburbs in order to remedy a “lack of diversity” in those suburban areas.
As reported in the New York Post, “Hillary’s rumored running mate, Housing Secretary Julian Castro, is cooking up a scheme to reallocate funding for Section 8 housing to punish suburbs for being too white and too wealthy.”
The scheme involves creating a type of “super-sized” government voucher, in the mold of Section 8, to allow poor residents of urban areas to afford housing in suburban areas. In addition, those residents would be assigned government real estate agents, known as a “mobility counselors” to assist in navigating the purchasing process.
While heavily rumored to be on the shortlist of vice-presidential candidates for Hilary Clinton, Castro has long been touted as Obama 2.0 since being tapped as the keynote speaker for the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
During his tenure as mayor of San Antonio, Texas, Castro was accused of sharing numerous traits with our Imperial Commander-in-Chief; chief among those similarities is “the complete disregard both men appear to have for the rule of law, specifically Obama for the U.S. Constitution and Castro for the municipal charter of San Antonio.” Castro was also accused of promoting “central city growth at the expense of suburban communities and private property.”
One of Castro’s first acts as HUD Secretary involved implementing the Obama administration’s “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” regulation, which pressured suburban communities that receive federal grant money to alter local zoning laws to allow for the construction of more low-income housing (specifically housing stock that would accept these new “super vouchers”). To accomplish this, HUD began building a database detailing the racial and socio-economic make-up of every neighborhood in the country in order to determine which areas were too white or wealthy. According to Fox News, “Data from this discrimination database would be used with zoning laws, housing finance policy, infrastructure planning and transportation to alleviate alleged discrimination and segregation.”
Stanley Kurtz, author of Spreading the Wealth: How Obama Is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities, wrote about the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing regulation in National Review. “The new HUD rule is really about changing the way Americans live. It is part of a broader suite of initiatives designed to block suburban development, press Americans into hyper-dense cities, and force us out of our cars. Government-mandated ethnic and racial diversification plays a role in this scheme, yet the broader goal is forced ‘economic integration.'”
Foreseeing resistance from landlords in suburban communities, Secretary Castro has threatened to sue landlords who refuse to rent to tenants, Section 8 or otherwise, with criminal records.
This plan is a concerted attempt to break up existing communities because, to the far left, communities that lack “diversity” are unacceptable. They look with scorn at people, of any race, who have decided to move out of over-crowded, crime-ridden big cities (practically all of which have been controlled by corrupt Democratic political machines for decades). People who want to have their own car, and not rely on poorly funded and maintained public transportation, or do not want to live in a coffin-sized apartment alongside thousands of other people in a glorified public housing complex, are racist.
United Nations Agenda 21 will see us all eventually corralled into large mega-cites, completely reliant on public transportation and assigned to coffin-sized apartment prisons. All the more simpler for the government to monitor us.
