D.W. Griffith the great American silent film director, depicts acts of intolerance throughout history in his epic movie by the same name. The history of man is highlighted by such inhumane acts as the Persian conquest of Babylon over religious differences and the crucifixion of Jesus brought about by the Pharisees who violently disagreed with his views.
Ultimately, the goodness of eternal motherhood wins out over the inhumanity of man towards those he differs with. Today a modern story of intolerance is being played out in the streets of America as those on the far left try to intimidate and beat down supporters of Donald Trump at peaceful assemblies of those who wish to hear how the businessman turned politician would “make America great again”.
What we have witnessed over this primary season is unprecedented. Thousands of paid organizers from Moveon.org, SEIU and other radical left-wing organizations have disrupted and shut down rallies of those they disagree with in a bold attack on the first amendment and American values. In cities like Chicago and San Jose where the liberals are in charge, they refused to provide basic protection for those in attendance and helped to create an oppressive environment where decent Americans would fall prey to violent leftists and gang members intent on creating mayhem. Arrests have been minimal which has just encouraged the leftists to continue and become more terroristic.
With Craigslist ads titled, “Troublemakers wanted(Chicago)” and threats from Moveon.org of more violent “protests” to come these banana republic tactics have come to our shores. Waving Mexican and communist banners and burning the American flag while pelting women and other law abiding Americans with punches and eggs, the bullying is full on. The question of whether this kind of voter coercion will have the desired effect of lowering Trumps polls is an open one.
For this writer who has been critical of Trump in the past, it has made me much more sympathetic. Americans hate to see other’s being bullied and as the Democratic party has done little to condemn the rioting, it seems to be helping the underdog campaign of The Donald.
Why the over the top thuggery by the establishment against the campaign of Donald Trump? He has infuriated the open borders internationalists who are represented by the Bush’s and Clinton’s by promoting America First policies like demanding that a wall be built on the border. He also stands against the
internationalist corporations that seek to pit American workers against other workers in their “Free” Trade deals. This has garnered him support from unusual sources like union workers. According to NPR, Trump Gains Support From Teamsters, Who Normally Vote For Democrats. The membership has even vowed to walk out if their leadership endorses Hillary who has not been as protective of American workers.
Finally we are seeing democrats like the socialist Bernie Sanders become nervous as the American people side with law and order over his aggressive supporters as he tries to distance himself from those who riot in his name. “If people are thinking about violence, please do not tell anybody you are a Bernie Sanders supporter. . .”.
Political pundit Pat Buchanan has aptly described these fascists as, “Bernie’s Brownshirts.”
These shameful attacks must come to an end. Those whose rights have been interfered with may need to sue the liberal run cities who have colluded with the mobs for hire in order to intimidate them from attending a Trump rally. Loretta Lynch should but won’t launch a massive investigation into these attacks on our Republican form of government.
Failing that, Congress needs to step up and act to investigate whether these patriotic Americans Federal voting rights have been violated and begin mass arrests of these un-American perpetrators of hate and intolerance.
Being an Army Veteran, my oath to uphold the Constitution did not end when I exited the military and I will come to the defense of my fellow Americans whose rights are being trampled upon. While I may not agree with everything Trump says, I will fight for his right to say them as well as the socialist nonsense that comes from Bernie Sanders mouth. As someone who once got his feet wet in leftist politics, I have come to understand the vile intolerance that the radical left presents to America. These vicious fascists assaults on our American way of life are a much greater threat than anything on the right and must be confronted by those of us who believe that your right to protest ends where my nose begins.
