Liberty-minded conservatives are feeling a bit of solace after Sen. Rand Paul’s tweet on Sunday afternoon following a golf outing with the President, indicating that serious health care reform is right around the corner.
“I had a great time today with [President Trump] and believe we are getting closer to an agreement on health care,” Sen. Paul said in the tweet. A fierce opponent of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), Paul is giving hope that the legislature can craft something better for the American people with Trump’s assistance.
In spite of being in a different legislative chamber, Paul has emerged as a key figure for the House Freedom Caucus. He even showed up in a tuxedo to give Art of the Deal pointers to Freedom Caucus members during the height of negotiations. Paul’s encouragement could not come quickly enough after a week-long onslaught from the Trump administration.
President Trump unleashed a series of Twitter slams toward the Freedom Caucus, and indicated that he would rather work with Democrats than the staunchly conservative legislative block. Meanwhile, Trump’s social media director issued a challenge for Trump supporters to find a primary challenger against Rep. Amash, in an apparent violation of federal law.
However, Sunday’s golf summit between Sen. Rand Paul, President Trump, and Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney indicates that the Administration may be ready to turn the page on all of this ugliness and get serious on cutting a deal with the Freedom Caucus.
The Freedom Caucus has already dropped its list of demands down only to basic cost-cutting measures, but centrist Republicans seem less willing to budge. Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) said he would rather throw in the towel than establish middle ground. If the golf outing was an indicator that Trump is pivoting on the issue, substantial health care reform could still be an immediate possibility.
If it gets through the house ,will it get through the senate. Seems almost impossible unless we push democrats to help pass it.
Nuclear option.
If Rand is proposing it, you can be sure the traitors McCain and Graham will oppose it and will actively try to undermine it, along with their Globalist/Democrat allies…
I sure hope so.

I call BS. No way Trump is even going to consider anything from the FC. He already declared war on them.
Executive order can pass into law by the President Trump.
