Trump’s Foreign Policy Is Jeopardized After Senate Approves Sanctions Against Russia

Congress is seemingly intent on doing just about anything in their power to stop President Trump from making America great again. Weeks after a diplomatic summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin led to a ceasefire in Syria, Congress has jeopardized the progress by passing a sanctions regime leaving Russia furious!

“This is already having an extremely negative impact on the process of normalizing our relations,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said. Ryabkov went onto say that the economic sanctions would put the already tenuous relationship between the U.S. and Russia into “uncharted territory in a political and diplomatic sense” and promised swift retaliation.

After sanctions were approved this week by a 419-3 vote in the House, the Senate quickly followed suit. The entire chamber voted to approve the sanctions on Russia earlier today by a 98-2 vote. The two lone “no” votes came from Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rand Paul (R-KY). The veto-proof supermajority behind these bills all but insures that they will become the law of the land before long.

In addition to Russia, the bill levies sanctions on Iran and North Korea as well. The Trump administration does not seem to have a problem with those particular sanctions. Trump wanted to have autonomy to remove sanctions on Russia to improve his deal-making ability. The legislation specifically hamstrings his diplomatic power by removing his discretion to alter the sanctions.

“The United States of America needs to send a strong message to Vladimir Putin and any other aggressor that we will not tolerate attacks on our democracy,” said Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who rushed back to the Senate while deathly ill to continue undermining the President.

These sanctions have not just angered the Russians, but also the European Union as well. The globalist body believes that European energy companies heavily reliant on economic cooperation with Russia will suffer greatly because of these sanctions. In a bizarre turn of events, Congress has done something so reviled and irresponsible that they have actually found a way to unite the E.U. with Putin and Trump.

  1. pretty sure the gop controlled senate is gonna go along with what the white house wants

the better news is the Ukrainian collusion with the dnc, which created this whole Russia shit show

  2. The RINOs hate Trump because his election blew their cover. If Ted Cruz had been elected it would be the same thing. McConnell, Graham, McCain et al are lying, self serving a$$holes who have made a fortune while “serving their country”. Where else but the House and the Senate can a complete moron make the kind of money that puts them in the 1%?
