It is no secret that the Left are big supporters of a politically correct culture. They see no issue with constantly stifling the free speech of anyone who disagrees with the politically correct narrative of the mainstream. They regularly clamp down on your free speech in the name of protecting the sensibilities of all those who happen to disagree. This policy has become so widespread on college campuses throughout the nation that it goes beyond merely condemning what people happen to say or feel, to physically placing the potential “victims” of your speech into so-called “safe spaces” in order to shield them from the dark and scary world of differing opinions.
Now we have a situation where students not only graduate with mounting debt and no discernible job skills, but also a juvenile fear of a different worldview being expressed to them. These are the future leaders of our country and it perfectly illustrates the madness of the modern regressive left.
Now, despite all this lofty rhetoric of protecting people’s feelings and sensibilities, the left has not actually completely given up on demeaning or insulting language. They only require their ideological opponents to adhere to these rules, however, they themselves do not apply. Thus, if they want to insult you or force their own ridiculous opinions down your throat, you must oblige them.
One of the left’s favorite tactics calling their opponents “uneducated.”
The term perfectly encapsulates the idea that those who are “uneducated” are in fact “stupid” or “dumb” without actually saying that. It is a brilliantly smug and indirect tactic to demean one’s intelligence, and consequently, whatever opinion their opposition happens to hold.
“Uneducated” is generally used to mean someone without a college education. Or, in more precise terms, someone without a college indoctrination.
For the vast majority of people who ended up not attending college, they most likely opted instead to join this great big place known as “the real world.”
Many, especially on the left, might be wondering what this grand institution is like and what standardized test scores you need to get in.
Well, in short, you do not need to pass a test for entry, and it isn’t a formalized institution that exists in its own ivory tower bubble.
No, in the real world you work at things called “jobs”, have things called “responsibilities”, and engage in “logical and consequential decision making” on a daily basis.
This may sound terribly frightening to the average grad student in a women’s studies program, but fear not, it really is a beautiful thing.
You see, in “the real world” you do not have to pay a tuition to work and learn valuable job skills – in fact, quite the opposite – you are the one who gets paid.
This may sound like something too good to be true. It may sound like a scam, but trust me, it is a real thing and it has a few millennia of history to prove it.
The left wants to keep up the great lie that you need a college education to not only be happy and successful, but as a prerequisite for holding any sort of an opinion. They mock the idea of an autodidact and any form of self-education. In their minds, “real” knowledge can only be spoon-fed to you within the great halls of an institution.
They know full well that modern university campuses have devolved into nothing more than playgrounds of postmodernism nonsense, Marxian dialectics, and every disgusting form of radicalism known to man.
So the longer you are “institutionalized” going from one useless degree to another, the farther removed you are from reality, and the more susceptible you become to the narrative of the Left.
They are ensuring that future generations will be nothing more than permanent student rioters, never having nor wanting a job, expecting everything is to be handed to them, and rejecting open and civil discourse in favor of chanting slogans while marching down the street and destroying private property.
This is why the left absolutely loathes the individualistic spirit of the common working man. This blue collar hero either did not go to college or only attended very briefly. He most likely has been working from an early age and, through that, has learned the value of an honest days work. He does not read their stuffy publications or watch their talk shows, he doesn’t attend their phony theatrical productions or visit their tax payer funded art galleries. He works hard, enjoys a good beer, and generally wants to be left the hell alone.
This is the man who elected Trump and this is the man who is tearing to pieces the worldview of the Left.
Thus they will do whatever they can to silence this man and denigrate his views. He will be labeled as racist, bigoted, and of course, uneducated. They did this after Trump’s win, they did this after Brexit, and they will do it again until they have gasped their last breath of relevancy before they are finally discredited for good.
I can dream, can’t I?
A college degree does not mean “educated”. It means you spent some time at an indoctrination camp, a tax and debt slave training camp for the government. That’s ALL it means anymore.
This is nonsense, some people get quality and useful educations in college and some don’t.
Had a prof tell me once that all a degree means is that you’re able to follow directions
Ryan, some folks get a good education DESPITE going to college. There is heavy leftist indoctrination in most colleges. Personally, I was better served educationally by a great minds reading list than by university.
You get out of it what you put into it. I did well in college because I applied myself to studying and working my butt off after I left the Army.
I stood up to the profs who put their opinions out as facts and argued my case in front of all. When all had left the classroom my profs held me back and told me that they wished that more students had the gumption to do what I did. They told me to” never let anyone stop you from this” “There should always be room for open discussions for without them there will be nothing left to talk about”. .
Terrence Erickson Amen. Sadly, many of today’s liberal professors will give you a failing grade if they find out that you are a Conservative.
Their smugness is what hurt them in the election
Facebook is censoring you. I can’t share your page.
Uneducated built this country. Construction. Mechanical, miners, etc. It boils down to what you can do.
“I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.” – Mark Twain
Truth
It’s a primitive form of thought control. If you think outside the mainstream ie pro property rights, pro liberty, limited government they cast you as a moon bat racist, which in turn disqualifies the thoughts by all those that give credibility to politically correct thinking.
This was a pic from the construction of the Empire State Building
Libbies have no sense.
I don’t know why EVERYONE refers to the left as the “mainstream”!!! We just PROVED that is not true!!!!! They are properly a WELL FUNDED radical fringe group!!!!!
Public education is compulsory. Are they saying that Public education isn’t really education at all? hrmm…
At one time American schools taught Latin and algebra to elementary grades. Now college students can’t parse English.
Great article!
That members from the Left-Wing of the WAR party make Appeals to Authority, ergo college sheepskin, is not surprising. 🙂
Notice they’re not wearing, safety belts or hard hats!
Nothing more than an attempt at shaming to get you to conform. Until you show them just how wasted that education was with a logical, supported argument.
And libtards say were ignorant.
As someone with three college degrees, I am insulted. Not by the article, it was a great read. But insulted by the ever growing group that insists that because I’m educated I therefore MUST BE a liberal. It sickens me to no end, are there no “educated” Trump supporters out there?
Wow, this article hit’s the nail on the head. It explains a lot about why the media was harping on how “college educated people are voting for Clinton.”
Good article Gavin. Nice to see you’ve made some real progress here.
Maybe we need a new description for them (over educated?), or my favorite “educated beyond their intelligence”
I have mixed feelings. The USN sent back to get my degree when I was about 35 years old; and as it worked out I also completed a Masters. I have wondered from time to time if I were a more effective Officer, and a better person, as a result. I have never directly used either degree. On balance, the experience probably helped. On the other hand, I had already made some progress in acquiring comparable skills through ordinary experience, augmented by the personal attention of some demanding Bosses.
Certainly, I want the engineers who design my airplanes to be well versed in his or her profession. I want the Surgeon who approaches me with a scalpel to be well trained. College can be an efficient environment for acquiring complex knowledge, along with the ability to think rationally and express ideas coherently. We should not forget that it is not the only path. And at its worst, as Gavin notes, besides representing a monumental waste of time and money; it too often of late provides an opportunity for indoctrination of captive youth by unscrupulous faculty.
