Robert Mugabe, Socialist Dictator, Removed From Office In Zimbabwe

A bloodless coup has taken place in the troubled African nation of Zimbabwe, as the notoriously cruel despot Robert Mugabe has been forced from office after a 37-year reign of terror that made him one of the most reviled heads of state in the world. Mugabe, 93, ignored a party deadline to resign yesterday before reconsidering and offering a forced resignation today. The military had placed him under house arrest pending his decision.
