There is a lot of discussion occurring regarding foreign influence in American affairs recently due to a number of hacking issues. Hacks revealing personal contact information of Democratic staffers, Democratic National Committee e-mail exchanges, and Republican lawmakers have all been speculated to be connected to the Russians.
So what?
Russian intelligence agents are hacking United States political organizations and government employees, leaking information that will undoubtedly influence our government.
Again, so what?
Democrats are sounding the alarm on the Russian influence, expressing outrage at external forces attempting to influence political and government affairs within the United States. It’s not necessarily an invalid point to wish for internal affairs to remain internal and to keep foreign countries out, but it’s a hypocritical request by Democrats.
When Hillary Clinton was accepting Saudi Arabian donations while running the State Department, did Democrats complain about the appearance?
We now know after the remaining pages of the 9/11 Commission Report were declassified, there has been significant influence by the Saudi Arabian government here in the United States. To start, there were multiple connections to the tragic terrorist attacks of September 11th. Top Saudi officials and even the Ambassador to the United States had multiple connections to those who carried out the attacks.
The same Saudi Arabian government that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton accepted donations from. Where is the Democratic outrage?
The supposedly pro-LGBT Democratic Party has said nothing about the Saudi influence over their presidential nominee, despite the Saudi Arabian government’s open hostility towards women and homosexuals. While women are considered inferior, homosexuals have been executed for merely coming out of the closet.
Where is the Democratic outrage?
To be clear, feigning outrage is a staple in American politics. Everyone pretends to be angry about something when there is a political opportunity. Here, the Democrats are taking it to a new level because the pretend anger is distracting from the actual contents of each hack.
Whether it be the Russians, Saudis, Iranians, Chinese, or some college kid who knows a lot about computers, we now know critical information that is important to this election. Hillary Clinton has been nominated by the Democratic Party to lead their party through the general election, but she won because the governing committee in their party was secretly rigging the election.
All of this was made possible around the time Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey declared that Clinton was “extremely careless” with classified material as Secretary of State.
Are these the people we want leading our country?
It doesn’t even seem to matter at this point. Instead of raising valid points regarding the hack contents themselves, the mainstream media is keeping America preoccupied with the Clinton campaign agenda of focusing on who committed the hacks. At the end of the day, however, it doesn’t matter who did the hacking. The contents are much more important to American elections than who is choosing to expose these issues.
Democrats don’t want the Russians to try and make them look bad by leaking things? Don’t give them things to leak. If this is a complicated concept, these people shouldn’t be made dog catcher, let alone any elected to significant leadership position in government.
