With Obama no longer in the oval office, the right wing is less focused on Constitutional issues, but not every conservative and libertarian has given up on that fight. One political action committee is sweeping into action right as they are needed most–to help Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and other conservative hardliners in their fight to defeat Obamacare.
“I was at these tea party rallies with a hundred thousand people on the Mall in Washington,” Paul said last week on Philadelphia talk radio. “Where are those people now and what happened to a movement that said that we believed in free markets, freedom, choice, competition? Now, all of a sudden, we’re saying there needs to be more Medicaid money is the supposed repeal?”
America’s Constitution PAC was founded to remind conservatives that principles matter even when Republicans are in power. They are leading the way to foment Tea Party-style resistance against Senate Republicans who want to break their campaign promises to repeal Obamacare completely.
“America’s Constitution PAC is committed to primarying and defeating every single Republican U.S. Senator and Congressman who votes to keep Obamacare betraying their promise to the voters who elected them,” America’s Constitution PAC President Alan Arcand said in an Independence Day press release. “If conservatives want to successfully repeal Obamacare, we must urge Senate Republicans to support the President’s plan to drain the swamp by passing a repeal-only bill — no compromises, no deals.”
The organization is urging the Senate to reject “compromises pushed by Senators Elizabeth Warren and Mitch McConnell” in order to push an Obamacare repeal-only proposal supported by Paul, with President Trump recently warming to the idea as well.
Trump said in a tweet published last week, “If Republican Senators are unable to pass what they are working on now, they should immediately REPEAL, and then REPLACE at a later date!”
America’s Constitution PAC released a pledge this week to repeal Obamacare, and will continue their push to defeat socialized medicine along with other free market, America first policy prescriptions throughout the Trump administration.
At this point we need a full repeal… senate republicans are just going in circles.
