Rand Paul Warns Fellow Republican Senators Against Passing Obamacare Bailout

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is concerned yet again about his fellow Republican Senators disregarding their campaign promises and pulling another fast one on the American public. Senate Republicans are set to pass legislation that will bail out Obamacare and permanently tie the inevitable failure of the bureaucratic monstrosity to the GOP, and Paul is desperately trying to stop them.

“I don’t think some miracle happens with this Republican plan. The main thing that happens is now the…dysfunctional part of the marketplace is going to be blamed on Republicans,” Paul said on “Newsmax Now” with Bill Tucker.

A revised health care plan, pushed by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other prominent Republican lawmakers, was released today. It would earmark $70 billion as a bailout of sorts for failing insurance exchanges to be paid out over the next decade. Earlier plans to cut certain tax hikes implemented through Obamacare were jettisoned in this new proposal as well.

“I think Obamacare is a disaster, I think it’s in a death spiral, premiums have gone through the roof, but then I look at this bill and it’s just not repeal, it keeps over half of the Obamacare taxes, it keeps most of the Obamacare regulations, it keeps most of the Obamacare subsidies,” Paul said.

Despite the problems facing him right now, Paul remains optimistic that he has a key ally to help him win his uphill battle against Senate GOP leadership: President Donald Trump. Paul says that he has been having frequent discussions with Trump, and has even convinced the President to support his plan of repealing Obamacare before passing a replacement.

“Have a clean repeal bill, this would be a repeal of Obamacare. We repeal taxes, regulations, you name it. We repeal what Obamacare was and the disaster that it is,” Paul said.

Rand Paul is the man. Wish I could take my vote for someone else in the primaries back. I like that he is keeping his promise. Can’t really say that about anybody else.
