#MeToo Movement Claims Its First Life As Republican Lawmaker Commits Suicide

The insane atmosphere created by the #MeToo movement has claimed its first life. As accusations continue to fly without evidence and due process becomes a thing of the past, Kentucky State Rep. Dan Johnson committed suicide after having accusations pinned on him by the mainstream media.

Johnson died of a single gunshot wound on Wednesday. The bullet appeared to be self-inflicted. This came shortly after he was accused publicly of molesting a 17-year-old girl, accusations staunchly denied by the former legislator before he committed apparent suicide.

“This is a tragic situation,” said Mac Brown, the chairman of the Republican Party of Kentucky. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dan Johnson.”

Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin released a tweet about the tragic news saying, “Saddened to hear of tonight’s death of KY Representative Dan Johnson … My heart breaks for his wife and children … These are heavy days in Frankfort and in America … May God shed His grace on us all … We sure need it … ”

The story was initially broken by National Public Radio despite not having verified the claims on their own. They “neither investigated the [Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting] story nor aired or published it” in their own words. Their irresponsible reporting undoubtedly led to the trauma that caused Johnson to take his own life.

The accusations have affected a bipartisan group of alleged culprits thus far, but #MeToo is taking shape to become the go-to tactic of Democrats to regain lost electoral majorities across the nation. As the movement gains steam, more accusations will surface and more lives will be destroyed without so much as a day in court. If this movement is fully successful, it will mean the overthrow of innocent until proven guilty in America. Johnson is the first death caused due to this digital witch hunt, but it will most assuredly not be the last.
