Cruz and Lee Need Your Help to Turn the Liberty Movement from Defense to Offense

The ballots are still being counted for the 2016 election and the eyes of the nation are turning towards 2018. I have already seen reports about the 2018 U.S. Senate races. There are 33 seats up for election, 23 held by Democrats, 2 held by independents who caucus with the Democrats, and 8 that are held by the Republicans. Of these 23 seats held by the Democrats, 10 live in states where Donald Trump won. Democratic turnout is usually lower in off-year elections so the election map does not look good for Democrats.

For Liberty minded, Constitution loving, Limited Government proponents, this is a great opportunity for you to make a huge difference in the direction of our country. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and many others are great spokesmen for the cause of limited Constitutional government.

While Mike Lee and Ted Cruz are in the majority party, they are in the minority within their party. They are in the minority because the Republican party may talk about limited government during the elections, but once the elections occur, they rush back to D.C. and fight for the establishment and government as usual.

Mike Lee and Ted Cruz will boldly stand up and fight for the principles of the U.S. Constitution. They will fight for limited government until their very last breath. They learned the principles of a Constitutional Republic at a very young age and these principles are instilled within them. Many Republican candidates have focus grouped their constituents and realized that the way that they win is by talking about limited government. However, the principles of limited government are simply sound bites and are not instilled in their hearts. As such, when push comes to shove, they are going to follow money and power.

While it is fun to celebrate the victories of 2016, the battle for the heart and soul of this country is not over. The establishment republicans have already started to figure out their game plan on who they are going to anoint for the honor to run against these 10 endangered democrats. They are going to pour millions of dollars into these races so that, at the primaries, the voters will vote for the individual with the most name recognition. Once the primaries are over, you are left with the choice of two individuals from two different parties. Your opportunity to advance the cause of liberty is greatly reduced.

Do you really think that the establishment republicans have learned anything from the election of Donald Trump? Do you think that they can run an establishment republican in the rust belt who will talk about jobs and the economy like Donald Trump did? Trump won the rust belt because he was able to reach out to the blue collar workers of those states. Our message of liberty should resonate with those individuals allow the Republican party to make inroads into the rust belt and change the landscape of the United States for generations to come. This cannot happen if we allow the Establishment to continue to pick their milk toast candidates who repeat their well-rehearsed soundbites for the next two years.

If you want to make a difference in the direction of the United States, you cannot afford to take a year off from politics. Now is the time when we need to organize and prepare for the 2018 primary elections. Now is the time when we need to make sure that we have a liberty loving conservative in each of the primaries. We need to rally around these individuals and make sure that we give them our time, our talent, and our treasure.

Elections are a battle for ideas. While politicians and statesmen battle with each other on the Senate floor, it is up to We the People to make sure that our ideas are heard. It is fun to cheer for Rand Paul and Ted Cruz as they filibuster on the Senate floor. These men will be glad to do it again. However, rather than having to respond to such bad bills, wouldn’t it be better to watch the democrats try to filibuster bills that promote freedom and liberty?

The best defense is a good offense. It is time that the principles of limited government move to offense. As long as the establishment controls the Republican party, the cause of liberty will be under attack. The jury is still out on what type of president Donald Trump will be. However, we already know how bad Senators Tammy Baldwin, Joe Minchin, Sherrod Brown, and many others are. If we as a nation are going to remove them in 2018, I personally would rather replace them with a liberty conservatives rather than with an establishment RINOs.

Even if you don’t live in one of those states, there may be a Governors Race, a U.S. Congress race or a state level race that you can make a difference. Get involved now, and make sure that liberty conservatives are on the ballot across the nation.
