When it comes to hidden camera journalism, very few can top James O’Keefe. A pioneer in the field of internet muckraking, his organization, Project Veritas, has exposed Planned Parenthood, teachers unions, federal bureaucrats, crooked non-profit entities, and other corrupt entities. This time, he is taking on CNN and exposing their production of fake news with his “American Pravda” series.
“Our goal is to expose the real motivations behind the decision-making process at our dominant media corporations,” O’Keefe said while introducing his bombshell video coverage.
The first video of the series pertains to CNN’s obsession over the story of alleged Russian collusion with President Trump. O’Keefe claimed that CNN has mentioned Russia on their airwaves nearly 16,000 times since last year’s election. He sent a mole into CNN headquarters to gather information about the motives behind their reporting, and quickly won the esteem of CNN supervising producer John Bonifield.
“Even if Russia was trying to swing an election, we try to swing their elections, our CIA is doing sh*t all the time, we’re out there trying to manipulate governments,” Bonifield said to an undercover journalist.
When asked specifically about CNN’s motivations behind pushing the phony Russia story, Bonifield pointed to one primary motivator: ratings.
“Our ratings are incredible right now,” Bonifield said.
Bonifield made it abundantly clear that this policy comes straight from the top of the organization. He described CNN CEO Jeff Zucker’s response after the network spent over a day covering Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accords.
“The CEO of CNN said in our internal meeting, he said, good job everybody covering the climate accords, but we’re done with it let’s get back to Russia,” Bonifield said.
As the conversation continued, Bonifield became more comfortable with the mole and began to divulge more juicy details about the fake news story his network is so intent on pushing to the masses.
“I think the President is right to say, like, look you are witch-hunting me. You have no smoking gun. You have no real proof,” Bonifield said in a candid confession.
“It’s corporate greed, market pressures, managers without integrity, newsroom bosses without courage, journalists who don’t even leave their desks,” O’Keefe said in his final thought for the video. “The very purpose of journalism is to expose the world for what it is, not to create false political narratives in order to make money.”
As the “American Pravda” series continues, three more videos are planned to be released by Project Veritas containing more evidence of CNN’s willful production of fake news.
