Grand Valley State University Sued For Discriminating Against Conservative Students

Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys representing a conservative student group at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) filed a federal lawsuit against the school last Wednesday after the students faced discrimination and threats of arrest from campus administrators. University officials told members of the Turning Point USA chapter at the school that they could not hand out pocket constitutions and talk to students about the First Amendment because the members were not standing in one of the university’s two Orwellian “free speech zones.” GVSU police and administrators told club founder Tim McKeeby and member Joe Tucker that they would be arrested for… Keep Reading

Time Magazine Names Donald Trump “Person Of The Year”

Time Magazine announced their 2016 Person of the Year this morning. Of all the politicians and figures considered this year, the editorial board gave Republican President-Elect Donald Trump the title. Time Editor Nancy Gibbs noted the unprecedented candidacy of Trump, referring to his unconventional campaign and impact on world events. This is certainly true, given that Trump from the beginning was never supposed to amount to anything. In a race that started out as former Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s to lose, it cycled through the contenders ranging from neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson to Senator Ted Cruz as America lived in… Keep Reading

Cuban Leader Fidel Castro, Authoritarian Communist, And Staunch Opponent Of U.S. Hegemony, Dead At 90

Long-time Communist leader of Cuba, Fidel Castro, is dead at the age of 90. It is believed that the cause of death was complications related to diverticulitis, a debilitating stomach condition he suffered from since 2006. Although Castro is dead, his legacy of authoritarian government will live on far beyond his death in Cuba. Castro was supplanted by his brother, Raul, who was instilled as President of Cuba in 2008 after Fidel’s health was waning. For many, Castro represented a brutal dictator who fully embodied the evils of totalitarian Communism. To others, he was seen as a Renaissance Man who… Keep Reading

In his words, “In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of emails that appear to be pertinent to the [Clinton] investigation.” We later learned that that unrelated case was none other than the investigation into disgraced former Democratic Congressman Anthony Wiener’s alleged sexting of a 15 year old girl. While the revelation is certain to shakeup the election, it highlights yet another instance of hypocrisy… Keep Reading

In a stunning victory for liberty the seven people who were charged with conspiracy to impede federal workers from doing their jobs, having weapons on federal property and several other crimes were found not guilty on all counts leveled against them. To review for those who do not remember, the Bundy family along with several other patriots occupied an empty building in Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in solidarity with a family (the Hammonds) who were facing prison time over their failure to control a fire that ended up on federal lands (minimal damage was done). The occupiers were persistent in their calls that they… Keep Reading

New Leader For The House Freedom Caucus?

Welcome to American politics, where election season never really ends. By the time one election is close, the next year’s campaign is well underway. The battle for the soul of the House GOP is no exception. Republicans in the House of Representatives have been having it out internally since the day they took the speakership in 2011 after the 2010 Republican midterm gains. What makes this fight particularly interesting is that, unlike presidential nominations or the RNC, it gives us an insight into the Republican Party’s ability to govern. The speakership of the House of Representatives is the third highest… Keep Reading

Marco Rubio Warns Republicans About WikiLeaks: ‘Tomorrow, It Could Be Us’

When Australian computer programmer, publisher, and journalist Julian Assange founded WikiLeaks in 2006, he wrote a piece titled “Conspiracy as Governance” in which he outlined his plan to target and destroy what he calls a true conspiracy: the political party. “Consider what would happen if one of these parties gave up their mobile phones, fax and email correspondence—let alone the computer systems which manage their [subscribers], donors, budgets, polling, call centres and direct mail campaigns,” Assange wrote in 2006. “They would immediately fall into an organisational stupor and lose to the other.” By fomenting the fear that communication tools are… Keep Reading

CROOKED: Hillary Clinton Campaign Breaks Washington State Election Law

Fewer college students have jobs while in college than ever before. Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been harnessing thousands of these thumb-twiddling millennials and putting them to work for her campaign, using them for phone banking and door knocking. There’s only one problem- some of it is illegal. In many states, using public resources- buildings, wifi, etc.- for organized campaign purposes is a violation of the law. The Clinton campaign has repeatedly used facilities owned and operated by the state of Washington for the benefit of the campaign. On October 13th, the Clinton campaign held a “Huskies for Hillary” phone bank at… Keep Reading
